Who we are
Your Evolution is run by Benjamin Clive Davies, trading as Your Evolution, a sole trader in the UK. We are the data controller for the information you put into the app. Our ICO registration number is [ICO registration number].

What we collect, and why
Account details: your email address (or the anonymous email Sign in with Apple gives us), name and password (stored only as a secure hash). We need these to give you an account.
Profile and targets: goal, sex, date of birth, height, training days, and calorie, macro and step targets. We use these to set up your plan and to estimate the calories you burn at rest.
Training: the workouts you do, sets, weights, reps, reps in reserve, soreness ratings and trophies. We use these to log your training, suggest weights and adjust volume.
Food: what you log, amounts and nutrition values, and any products you type in from a label.
Apple Health: daily totals of active and resting calories, steps, sleep, and your weight and height, if you allow them. The app only reads Apple Health and never writes to it.
Mood: your daily mood check-in, and energy and stress if you add them.
Health, sleep and mood information is special category data under UK GDPR. We only collect what a feature uses.
Our lawful basis
Account, profile, training and food logging: to provide the service you signed up for (contract, UK GDPR Article 6(1)(b)).
Health, sleep, weight and mood information: your explicit consent (Article 9(2)(a)), which you give when you connect Apple Health and when you use the mood check-in. You can withdraw it at any time by disconnecting Apple Health in the Health app, or by deleting your data.
Sharing with your coach: your consent, one switch per type of data. You choose this on the 'What your coach can see' screen and can change it at any time in Me.
Who can see your data
Your coach can see only the types of data you switch on, and only while you are linked to them. Every time your coach views your data it is recorded, and that record is included when you download your data.
If you are on the Self-guided plan, your coach can't see your data.
Nobody else at Your Evolution looks at your data except to fix a problem you report, or where the law requires it.
Services we use
Supabase stores your account and data on servers in London, UK. It acts on our instructions only.
Apple provides Sign in with Apple and Apple Health. Apple Health data stays on your iPhone; the app reads daily totals and saves them to your account.
Resend sends the emails with your sign-up and password reset codes, from servers in Ireland (EU). It receives your email address and the code only. It acts on our instructions only.
Cloudflare hosts our website (yourevolution.app) and forwards emails you send to hello@yourevolution.app to our inbox (Microsoft Outlook). It doesn't keep those emails. The website has no cookies, tracking or analytics.
Open Food Facts: when you scan or search for food, the barcode or search words are sent to Open Food Facts, an open food database. Nothing that identifies you is sent with them.
Expo's build service turns our code into the app. The app doesn't send any personal data to Expo: it has no crash reporting, analytics or over-the-air updates.
We don't sell your data, use it for advertising, or share Apple Health data with anyone except your coach, and only as you choose.
How long we keep it
We keep your data while you have an account. When you delete your account in Me, your account and everything in it are deleted straight away. If you signed up with Apple, Your Evolution is also disconnected from your Apple ID. Copies in our hosting provider's backups are removed within 7 days.
Data already in Apple Health stays in Apple Health; delete it there if you want to.
Your rights
You can see and download everything we hold about you, as a readable summary or a full data file (Me → Your data), correct it, delete it (Me → Delete my account), restrict or object to how we use it, take it elsewhere, and withdraw your consent at any time.
To use any of these rights, use the app or email hello@yourevolution.app. We'll reply within one month.
If you're unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk, 0303 123 1113).
Automatic suggestions
The app suggests weights, reps and changes to the number of sets from your logs and soreness ratings. These are training suggestions only. You and your coach decide what you do, and they have no legal or similarly significant effect on you.
Age
Your Evolution is for adults aged 18 and over.
Changes to this notice
If we change how we use your data, we'll update this notice and tell you in the app before the change applies.
